Dr. Alhatali is the head of the poison control section, at the Ministry of Health in Oman. She is a consultant in the emergency medicine department at the Royal Hospital and hold the program director position of the emergency medicine specialty in the Oman Medical Specialty Board. She also serves as the Middle East and North Africa Association of Medical Toxicology (MENATOX) President and International Advisory Board chair for National Institute for Health and Care Research RIGHT4 (Preventing Death from Acute Poisoning in Low and Middle Income Countries). She finished her Post Doctoral Fellowship in medical toxicology at Emory University and the Georgia Poison Center in Atlanta, USA in 2014. She developed the poison consultation services in the country and has lectured in countries around the world and has numerous awards to her credit.

Dr. Hassan Al Balushi

Dr. Al Balushi graduated from Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman, with an MD degree. He completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), Muscat. He holds a post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Toxicology from Emory University, USA.
He is an active member of the Middle East and North Africa Association of Medical Toxicology (MENATOX), a Board Member and Secretary of the Oman Society of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Al Balushi currently works as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology at Suhar Hospital Emergency Department, Ministry of Health, Oman. He also serves as Assistant Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at OMSB and as Head of the Crisis and Emergencies Department at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), North Al Batinah Region, Ministry of Health, Oman.

Dr. Afra Alsuwaidi is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and a Medical Toxicologist. She is Arab Board–certified in Emergency Medicine and completed a Fellowship in Medical Toxicology at Emory University, USA. She also holds an Executive Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. Dr. Alsuwaidi is a core faculty member in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and serves as Co-Chair of the Toxicology Committee at the National Institute for Health Specialties. She is an Advanced HAZMAT Life Support (AHLS) instructor and the founder and moderator of MENATOX Clinical Rounds, a monthly regional toxicology webinar. Her academic interests include clinical toxicology, toxicology education, disaster preparedness, and poison center development, with multiple conference presentations, publications, and leadership roles across the MENA region.

Dr. AYNUR SAHIN

Dr. Aynur Sahin, MD, PhD, FACMT, is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and a Medical Toxicologist at Health Sciences University, Basaksehir Cam and Sakura Research and Training Hospital in Istanbul, Türkiye. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Karadeniz Technical University, earned a PhD in Toxicology from Dokuz Eylul University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Toxicology at Emory University and the Georgia Poison Center, USA. Dr. Sahin is the Director of the Medical Toxicology ICU at her institution and serves as a Board Member of the Middle East and North Africa Association of Medical Toxicology (MENATOX). She has an extensive academic portfolio with numerous peer-reviewed publications, international conference presentations, and leadership roles in toxicology education and research.

Dr. Abdullatif Aloumi,

Abdullatif Aloumi, MBChB, graduated from the University of Aberdeen College of Medicine, United Kingdom, in 2006. He was among the first graduates of the Kuwait Board of Emergency Medicine and completed his fellowship at Sidra Medicine in 2021.
He currently serves as the Director of the Kuwait Poison Control Center and the Director of the Emergency Toxicology Diploma Program. He is an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Al-Amiri Hospital, a faculty member of the Kuwait Board of Emergency Medicine, and Head of the Research Committee. Dr. Aloumi is employed by the Ministry of Health, Kuwait.

Dr. Bruno Megarbane

Professor Bruno Megarbane, MD, PhD, is a Professor at Paris Cité University and Head of the Department of Medical and Toxicological Critical Care at Lariboisière University Hospital in Paris, France. He also serves as Research Team Leader within the INSERM UMRS-1144 experimental research group and is the Medical Head of the French regional and national reference center for chemicals, toxins, and toxicants (CORTOX task force), delegated by the French General Directorate of Health.
Professor Megarbane is a specialist in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Clinical Toxicology, with particular expertise in drug poisoning, substance abuse, and envenomation. He holds a PhD in Toxicology and is authorized to supervise doctoral research. He has held major leadership roles in international toxicology societies, including Past President of the European Association of Poison Centres and Clinical Toxicologists (EAPCCT), and is a Board Member of the Middle East and North Africa Clinical Toxicology Association (MENATOX). He serves as an Associate Editor for several high-impact journals, including Clinical Toxicology and Annals of Intensive Care, and has an extensive publication record in the field of medical toxicology and critical care.

Dr Muhammad Elamin Muhammad Osman Elamin, MBBS, FRCP, MSc (Medical Toxicology), CCT, is a Consultant Physician and Clinical Toxicologist with specialist registration in Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics and General (Internal) Medicine with the UK General Medical Council. He currently serves as Acting Clinical Service Lead for Clinical Toxicology at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital and Clinical Governance Lead for the National Poisons Information Service (NPIS) Birmingham Unit.
Dr Elamin has extensive clinical expertise in the management of acute and chronic poisoning, drug overdose, envenomation, and alcohol-related disorders, providing both in-hospital care and national toxicology advisory services across the UK and Republic of Ireland. He plays a key role in the development, review, and governance of TOXBASE®, the UK’s national poisons information database.
Academically, Dr Elamin is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and a Casual Lecturer on the MSc Pharmacotoxicology programme at the University of Malta. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, assessment, and curriculum development, including serving as Group Chair for the MRCP(UK) Part 1 and 2 Question Writing Group (Geriatrics).
His scholarly contributions include peer review for leading international journals in toxicology and clinical pharmacology, abstract reviewing for major international toxicology congresses, and participation in national expert advisory groups, including the UK Expert Group on Antivenoms. Dr Elamin is also a contributor to WHO guideline development related to poison centre establishment.

Dr. Nozha Brahmi

Professor Nozha Brahmi, MD, is a Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tunis El Manar, Tunisia. She is the Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Toxicology at the Mahmoud Yaacoub Center of Toxicology in Tunis and serves as Director of the Tunis Poison Control Center. She also holds the position of Head of the Department of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tunis El Manar.
Professor Brahmi trained in intensive care and toxicology in both Tunisia and France, with prior clinical appointments at Bichat Claude Bernard Hospital and Lariboisière Hospital in Paris. Her expertise includes clinical and environmental toxicology, critical care medicine, and toxicological research. She leads scientific research programs in toxicology, chairs simulation and toxicology education initiatives, and is an active member of several national and international intensive care and toxicology societies, including MENATOX.

Dr. Rawan Eskandarani

Dr. Rawan Eskandarani is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and a board-certified Medical Toxicologist with over a decade of clinical experience. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Toxicology at Emory University and the Georgia Poison Center, USA, and holds a Master’s degree in Analytical Biochemistry from Alfaisal University. She is currently an Emergency Medicine Consultant at King Fahad Medical City and serves as the Emergency Medicine Board Program Director for the Riyadh Second Health Cluster, overseeing one of the largest training programs in the region.
Dr. Eskandarani is a Medical Toxicology Consultant at the Poison Control Center, where she provides expert consultation on poisoning and chemical exposures, contributes to toxicology research, and leads education and training initiatives. She has extensive experience in medical education leadership, simulation-based training, and quality improvement. Her academic interests include toxicology, digital health, telemedicine, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and innovative approaches to medical education. She is an active national and international speaker with multiple peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.

Dr Ziad Kazzi, MD, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and a board-certified Emergency Physician and Medical Toxicologist at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, he earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut before completing residency training in Emergency Medicine at Emory University, where he served as Chief Resident. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at Emory University in collaboration with the Georgia Poison Center and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr Kazzi has held academic and clinical appointments at Emory University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as a Medical Toxicologist for regional and state poison control centers. He currently serves as Director of the International Toxicology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at Emory University and Assistant Medical Director of the Georgia Poison Center. He also holds adjunct faculty appointments at the American University of Beirut and the University of Georgia (Tbilisi).
Clinically and academically, Dr Kazzi specializes in the recognition, triage, and management of acute poisonings, with particular expertise in radiation and international toxicology. He is a co-founder and co-chair of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology Radiation Interest Group and chairs the Abstract Review Committee for the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology. He is currently serving as President of the American College of Medical Toxicology.
Dr Kazzi has lectured extensively at national and international forums and has played a leading role in developing educational curricula and emergency preparedness programs globally. He is a founding board member and past president of the Middle East North Africa Toxicology Association and serves as its Executive Co-Director. His scholarly work spans medical countermeasures, poison center development, radiation response, and global toxicology capacity building.

Dr Nadeem Alduaij, MD, MPH, is a physician executive with over two decades of experience spanning emergency medicine, medical toxicology, global health policy, and digital health innovation. He holds a Master of Public Health in Global Health Policy from Harvard University and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Geneva. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and has practiced across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
Dr Alduaij currently serves as a Consultant at the Research & Innovation Center of the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, where he played a central role in launching the UAE’s first national poison center and building the country’s clinical toxicology workforce and ecosystem. He is also Co-Founder and Partner at Baraka Impact Finance, a Geneva-based advisory platform focused on catalyzing global health impact investments through data-driven and blended finance approaches.
Previously, Dr Alduaij held senior clinical and leadership roles including Chief of Emergency Medicine, Associate Chief of Emergency Medicine at Geneva University Hospitals, and executive leadership of virtual-first primary care systems. His professional interests include health systems optimization, digital health, global health innovation, medical education, and health financing. He is widely published in health policy and global health and is known for bridging clinical practice with policy, technology, and investment to advance equitable and sustainable health systems.
