History of
The Middle East & North Africa Clinical Toxicology Association (MENATOX) was founded by Dr. Nadeem Alduaij and Dr. Ziad Kazzi in 2007-2008 and officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2010. In its early days, MENATOX organized educational sessions and symposia at various medical conferences throughout the region. What began as a grassroots effort to promote dialogue and collaboration among clinicians evolved into a formal membership-based association dedicated to advancing the practice, education, and research of clinical toxicology across the Eastern Mediterranean Region.

Today, MENATOX unites clinicians, researchers, and public health professionals to promote evidence-based capacity building in clinical toxicology, poison control, environmental and occupational toxicology, and chemical disaster preparedness and response. MENATOX collaborates with regional and local stakeholders to promote specialized education, policy interventions, and research initiatives that cover patient care to population health. MENATOX strives to fulfill its mission of improving and standardizing the care of the poisoned patient, building quality poison control and prevention systems, and developing chemical safety standards.
