Members of this board are dedicated medical toxicologists who tirelessly strive for the advancement of our subspecialty in the MENA region. It is critically important to have a group of energetic, productive and creative representatives who can help us navigate through the present challenges facing the health care system.
I completed an Emergency Medicine residency at Oman Medical Specialty Board and an International Medical Toxicology Fellowship at the Emory University and Georgia Poison Center program in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I also currently serve as a representative of the organization in the EXTRIP group. We have also developed modules for chemical security training for Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon.
I believe the experience and leadership abilities I gained while serving MENATOX as a treasurer during
the last few years would allow me to fulfill my role as President of this important organization. I pledge
to advance the vision and mission of the organization and will continue to promote toxicology as a medical field in the region.

My research work is focused on riot control agents, lead exposure in pediatric patients, benzodiazepine abuse, household product toxicity, Teleconsult toxicology service, besides reporting on common xenobiotic exposures in Lebanon.

It is an honor for me to be nominated as a candidate for the Board of Directors in the 2021 MENATOX election. I have been an active member of MENATOX since I was a resident, and I had the chance to participate often as a speaker in their yearly scientific meeting. Our region is in need for qualified medical toxicologists to establish poison control centers and my main aim is to establish joined research dataset in the MENA region, to identify trends and set the standards for improved patient care and target public awareness. Adding to this, I am interested in advocating for medical toxicology fellowship by targeting our medical residents and assisting them to pursue this career. This is all possible through joined efforts, fruitful collaborations, and dedicated team.

Hoping to be an added value to the team.
